Original Almond Cake Recipe

Beat until blended:

1 1/4 cup sugar

1 large egg

 

Add:

2/3 cup milk

2 teaspoons Pipka's Pure Almond Extract

Beat until blended well.

 

Add:

1 1/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Mix until incorporated

 

Add:

1 stick unsalted butter, melted and mix together.

 

Optional:

Sprinkle top of cake with sliced almonds and raw sugar.

 

Pour batter into the Pipka Almond Cake Pan which has been sprayed with PAM Baking Spray with Flour OR butter and flour the pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 8 minutes. Then tap the pan on the counter and invert the cake on to a wire rack to finish cooking.

 

To freeze: wrap cooled cake in plastic wrap, tightly, for up to four months.
