Tulip and Roses Mini Clipboard
Folk art flowers are inspired by my many trips to Germany. While visiting my Grandmother in Munich, I would take time to go to the Bayesrische Nationalmuseum to view the hand painted furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries. Colorful flowers and scenes decorated trunks, wardrobes and all kinds of household items. I’ve always loved this primitive art painted by farmers or sometimes by itinerant artists. Although the paintings were very simple, there is never a mistake in identifying what the object is. Here I’ve painted roses and a few other garden flowers on a striking black background as a tribute to my heritage. The clipboard is 9″ x 6″.
